Chef David Ditch The Hot Pot For Grill At Your Table Sichuan Snacks

Everyone’s favourite late night feed, Chef David, are firing up the barbecue and tempting the tastebuds of the CBD with their NEW SICHUAN BARBECUE GRILL MENU.


Born out of the COVID-19 crisis, Chef David’s new grilled menu was a swift delivery-friendly alternative to their famed steamy and swirly hot pot.

Now a proven success, Chef David have revamped their entire menu to suit this exciting new concept and are proud to announce that the barbecue grill is here to stay!


Focused on grilled seafood combined with the fiery flavours of Chengdu, the new Chef David menu combines traditional Chinese flavours, including Sichaun’s famed spicy and numbing peppercorns with the fresh, seductive seafood offerings with the option of fresh sashimi ($14 – $48) or barbecuing at your very own table.



Capturing the experimental energy of the interiors, the new Chef David menu offers a range of large sharing plates that take guests on a gastronomic adventure of sensory immersion.


Start your evening with a sample of oysters and sea urchins ($32), with your choice of freshly shucked or grilled with garlic sauce.


For those that want something hearty and packed with a punch of flavour, share in the sweet and spicy flavours of braised crayfish tails ($59), wok fried bullfrog ($78) and Sichuan pig intestines or brains with prawns ($38), for the most intrepid of diners.


For a full Chef David experience, grill your own prawn skewers ($20), dusted in Chef David secret spices to absolute perfection and sizzle a whole grilled Barramundi in your choice of spicy, black bean, sour or sweet tomato sauce right at your table.



Chef David caters to all dietaries, with a delicious and flavoursome range of meat free options. Fire up the flames and grill enoki mushrooms ($9) with garlic sauce or  melt in the mouth spicy grilled tofu   ($10). eggplant ($12), lotus root ($7) and Sichuan sweet potato noodles ($8).


Other staple menu items include David’s deep fried pork belly ($13.80), fresh thinly sliced Salmon, tuna and king fish sashimi or traditional Pecking duck, roasted duck wrapped in traditional and thin pancakes, topped with sliced scallions, cucumber and sweet and savoury Chef David sauce ($21 – $62).



Refresh and revitalise your palette with Chef David’s signature cocktails, mocktails and beers to complement and soothe the spice.


Sip on a the oh so sweet Hope and Sesame concoction of vermouth, sherry and golden sesame. For something stronger, try Chasing the Dragon with American Whisky and Hot Pot Raspberry or a Gin, Chef David Peach Ginger Tea and White Wine Fitzroy Pool Punch.


Non-alcoholic Watermelon Mojito, Chef David Lemonade and regular soft drinks and juices are available, as well as local beers and a select of traditional alcoholic Chinese beverages.
